James A. Janisse is the founder and co-owner of Dead Meat, with a love of horror going back to his childhood. As a young boy, he learned HTML to code a website about horror movies where he – you guessed it – counted up their kills. After co-running a comedy YouTube channel for 5 years (first known as Comediocracy and then Practical Folks), James launched Dead Meat with its flagship show The Kill Count in 2017. The show has evolved over the years to include production information and serve as sort of “mini-documentaries.” Outside of work, James loves watching pro-wrestling, working out, and going to concerts. His favorite scary movies are John Carpenter’s The Thing and Scream (1996).
